  • Peppara wildlife sanctuary: Locates at a distance of fifty kilometer from Thiruvananthapuram, this sanctuary is spread across fifty three square kilometer on the western Ghat.   • Idukki wildlife sanctuary: Located at a distance of fifty five kilometer from Thodupuzha in Idukki wildlife sanctuary.   • Periyar tiger reserve: Famous for its richest bio-diverse spots, the Periyar wildlife sanctuary is famous across the globe. The sanctuary is also a protected tiger reserve. There are two watch towers that make wildlife viewing an exotic experience.
  • Eravikulam national park: Located at a fifteen kilometer distance from Munnar in Idukki, most of the park attractions are situated in the Devikulam Taluk. The park is known for the NeelakurinjiPark that blooms once in twelve years.

  • Thattekad bird sanctuary: At a distance of 20 kilometer is located a nature lover and bird watchers paradise – the Thattekad bird sanctuary also known as Dr. Salim Ali bird sanctuary.
  • Chimmini wildlife sanctuary: A dense forest housing a variety of birds and butterflies along with innumerable trekking trails is the exciting and entertaining Chimmini wildlife sanctuary.
  • Silent valley national park: The silent valley national park is believed to be the only park comprising of evergreen forests. The park gets its name because you cannot hear a whisper or even the chirping of the birds here.
